This four-week wheel throwing course guides you through the complete process of working on the pottery wheel, from your very first thrown pieces to fully glazed and finished work. The course is designed to help you build a solid foundation in wheel throwing and gain a clear understanding of every step involved. It is suitable for both beginners and slightly more experienced makers who want to strengthen their skills.
During the first three sessions, the focus is entirely on wheel throwing combined with trimming. You’ll learn how to centre clay, throw balanced forms, improve consistency, and refine your pieces through trimming. With plenty of repetition and hands-on guidance, you’ll develop confidence and control at the wheel.
In the fourth and final session, you’ll glaze all of your work yourself. You’ll be introduced to the basics of glazing and what to consider for a successful final result. By the end of the course, you’ll have gone through the full wheel throwing process from start to finish.
We work in a small group of just 4 participants, allowing for intensive, personal guidance and plenty of time to work at your own pace. Over the four weeks, you’ll complete approximately 6 fully glazed and fired pieces per person.

The course includes all materials: clay, use of wheels and tools, glazes, all firings (bisque and glaze), as well as coffee, tea, and snacks. After the final firing, your pieces can be collected or shipped to you.
A few days before the course begins, you’ll receive an email with all practical details and additional information.
Terms & Conditions:
You may cancel free of charge up to 14 days before the start of the course. After that, the full amount will be charged, even if you do not attend. If you’re unable to join, someone else may take your place, as long as you let me know in advance. If the course needs to be cancelled from my side, you’ll be informed as soon as possible and will, of course, receive a full refund.
